We came to Carolina Beach for a small-town low-COVID-exposure trip with my parents and my son. We chose Christine’s penthouse for several reasons. It’s a few blocks from the boardwalk and one block from the ocean, so it meant our teenage son could wander on his own if he felt like it without having to go far to find amusement. My father has trouble walking and navigating stairs, so the private elevator was ideal for him. We like sitting outside and watching the world go by, so a screened in porch seemed ideal. And then there were basics–three bedrooms and three bathrooms, so my husband and I, my parents, and my son could all have a little privacy. Christine is super communicative, even responding to my minor questions while she was on vacation herself (like, within minutes!). Her place is adorable, packed with fun touches–my teen son was amused by all the mermaids in his bedroom, I loved the sequined trim on the lamp in the living room, etc. There are amenities upon amenities…besides the essential private elevator, there are games, a well-equipped kitchen (seriously, I made whipped cream with the immersion blender), a shed packed with camp chairs, a wagon, coolers, boogie boards, sand toys and a bocce ball set for taking to the beach. Christine even includes beach towels, linens, and laundry facilities to keep everything clean. We absolutely loved staying here and had a great time together. 100% recommend this gem. Book it, you won’t regret it!!
